Since the beginning of the year 2010 the hkc Child Foundation - under direction of the chairman of our foundation: Marc Hackmann - cares for children in South America and for the improvement of their living conditions.
The concept of our foundation is to give "Aid for Self-Help" and, with much effort, we are engaged in providing education and training for children and young persons, as these pre-conditions are the key for a secured future.
The hkc Child Foundation projects are supported by Plan International Deutschland e.V. and Plan Stiftungszentrum in the Hanseatic City of Hamburg. They organize and co-ordinate the help in South America and are excellent because of their long-lasting experience.
By now, projects in 48 developing countries are supported by more than one million people who are sponsoring a child. With the help of this sponsoring, children living in poverty shall be enabled to visit a school instead of working in the house or on the fields, because only sufficient education assures that the future grownups can improve their lives on their own.
In a world where white slavery and child prostitution are common and subsequently diseases like HIV respectively AIDS, it must be pointed out that children have rights and deserve our respect as they are the future of all of us. According to this, the hkc Child Foundation has decided to focus on children's wishes and to fight against poverty, as every child should have the chance of self development and a healthy childhood.
